HOOKS! Hands-On with Tapestry of Grace

If you could turn back the clock to my homeschooling journey you would see a variety of approaches.  We loved a literature based education as we have a love for good books.  However, as I was beginning to educate two little ones (including a bouncy boy), I longed for quality eduction that incorporated FUN STUFF.  Tapestry of Grace had that in mind when it was being formulated in Somerville home.

PESIAN MAIL

There is so many things that make school come ALIVE.  We have made Native American Cornhusks dolls, to Medieval banners, from Egyptian food to Jewish feasts.  Every week the first thing the children get to do is pick their activity for the week.

BEN FRANKLIN WEATHER STATIONS

My boy usually picks something he can build.  My eldest something that she can make that is useful. My youngest will surprise me and even wanted to make a bow and arrow (that really shoots).

TYE DYE MESOPOTAMIA STYLE
We don't always remember all the details of every books, but in our family, we remember what we make.  Thank you for putting fun back into teaching.

ZIGGURAT TEMPLE
Please don't get me wrong.  I am NOT a mom who just longs to get out craft supplies or even the extra "hassle" but since the books that Tapestry of Grace recommend plus the additional help on their active website, it is EASY.  As long as I make it happen.  It is the hooks that we remember the stuff we studied.  Thanks for the HOOKS!
